Agnes-Froehlich-Verein

How it started

The occasion of one of her holiday homes Sister Engelberta preached a sermon in the church. With a stirring appeal she tried to find people for sponsorships for the children in order to pay their school fees.
Otto Hofmann was one of the listeners and decided to help his former school-mate on her missionary station in Kenya. Soon after that Sister Engelberta asked him to come to Africa and see his godchildren. Not hesitating Mr. and Mrs. Hofmann flew to Africa. And deeply moved they returned.
When they had sunk in the mud with an old VW-Beetle - it was the season of rain - Mr. Hofmann knew, that the sisters needed a cross-country vehicle as soon as possible in order to keep a connection from their missionary station to the surrounding areas. Just one year later, in 1979, he had collected the money for a Range Rover and could present it to the sisters.
After this the people who had initiated the collection found the name for the sponsors: Ages-Froehlich-Verein.

The first Range Rover

In 1979 the Range Rover reaches its destination.
