In the different missionary stations the "Agnes-Froehlich-Verein"
supports educational institutions, e.g. the building of sleeping halls and
common- rooms. But it also pays attention to the development of the pupils
and supports the "Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood" by
sponsorships. Since its foundation in 1978 the "Agnes-Froehlich-Verein"
made it possible for thousands of children to go to school. And all of
them got the chance of a vocational education. Nurses and bank-clerks,
secretaries and librarians, social workers and housekeepers can earn their
living for their families.
The people know the necessity of education. This is demonstrated e.g.,
when fathers sell their mattresses or even one of only two goats to get
the money at least for a part of the school-fees. It was not in vain when,
20 years ago, Sister Engelberta called: "You, too, should help a
godchild in Africa!"
